Made-To-Measure clothing is often, for most men, their first exposure to the custom clothing industry. It is a retail product that begins where the rack ends. Whereas a client can walk into a retail clothing store and purchase an "off the rack" suit and either see a tailor on-site or their own for alterations, Made-To-Measure offers clients a limited number of higher quality fabrics to design "custom" garments. In reality, these are semi-custom garments designed from rack clothing used for try-on. They can be factory-made or tailor-made, but regardless often have certain restrictions in design. Some Made-To-Measure (MTM) programs offer more custom options, and others less. MTM garments offer a generic menu of design options, most of which conform to standard societal designs, so if your requests are generic, MTM is a good product for you to consider. 

Made-To-Measure garments generally allow for one initial fitting and one final fitting, however they do sometimes allow for a "basted" fitting if it is deemed appropriate and needed for the client. This program offers three differing qualities of construction, ranging from fused, half, and full canvas construction, fused being the lowest quality and full canvas being the highest. House of Hawkes does not offer fused garments, we do offer half and full canvas garments in both machine, half-handmade, and fully handmade canvas of varying compositions which our master clothier will chose and determine based on the specific nature of the garment being ordered. MTM garments therefore offer clients an attractive product at a variety of price points and levels of quality. With all this said, this program should not be confused with Bespoke or exclusively tailor-made garments which offer a fully custom process from beginning to end over several fittings.

House of Hawkes offers Made-To-Measure garments at all three construction levels, each level offering an ascending quality of fabrics. All measurements are taken by hand in person and a full consultation with a master clothier is always required. Our MTM garments are tailor made in Hong Kong. They require 4-8 weeks to deliver, depending on the nature of the order.
